Heat Poised & Ready For Playoffs
The Miami Heat are the one team that everyone is talking about this 2011-2012 season. All of the experts are saying they either need to win a championship or this season will be a bust. Having 3 all-stars on your team and in my opinion the league MVP, I believe that they need and should win an NBA Championship this season. They are too talented to come up short again. They are taking these last 10 games to build some major momentum going into the playoffs. MVP candidate LeBron James says that if they play their best basketball down the stretch, he believes that the Heat will be a tough team to beat in the playoffs. I believe that they will be able to handle all of the hype and pressure and they will get the job done this year and win a championship.

A Renewed Franchise in Miami
The Miami Marlins, formerly known as the Florida Marlins, built a brand new stadium for their renewed franchise. They built a new stadium as well as changing their team colors and bringing in a whole bunch of free agent players in 2012. Ever since their World Series win in 2003, the Marlins have been on an uphill time to get back to the top of the Major Leagues. They now have something to look forward to in Miami because the ballpark is honestly one of the nicest if not THE nicest in the Majors. They also say that they are excited about bringing the NL batting champion in Jose Reyes. He can automatically turn a team into a contender just by the way he plays the game. Also adding one of the most decorated managers Ozzie Guillen to the mix, this can definitely help renew the franchise. All things are looking up.

RG3 Time in DC
Robert Griffin III is one of the most highly rated recruits in all of football right now. The Heisman Trophy winner gives the Washington Redskins new life and something to look forward to for next season. The Redskins originally had the 6th pick in the 2012 draft but made arguably the biggest move in history to get the 2nd pick. They traded three first round picks and a second round pick to receive this years 2nd pick. Griffin III is likely to be drafted by the Redskins and become an immediate factor in their offense. Washington D.C. is my hometown and I am really glad that the Redskins fans have something to cheer about again. I certainly am looking forward to watching RGIII perform on the field this upcoming season.

Deron Williams Sets Franchise Record
Last night Deron Williams set a franchise record for points scored during a single game. Although it was against the worst team in the NBA (Charlotte Bobcats), this is still a great achievement. Williams is known as one of the leagues most dominating scoring point guards. He had the game of his life putting up 57 points and lead the New Jersey Nets to a 104-101 victory over the Bobcats. This is quite an achievement because it has never been done in franchise history and it is the highest point total scored in a single game for the entire 2011-2012 NBA season.

Sad Day for Steeler Fans
A couple of days ago, the Pittsburgh Steelers notified Hines Ward that he was going to be released. The main reason for the Steelers organization making this decision is because they need to clear salary cap space in order to resign younger players. Hines Ward is not only one of the best receivers in Steelers history but in NFL history. During his 14 year career he had 1000 catches, 12,083 receiving yards and 85 touchdowns. Certainly a first ballot Hall of Fame player in my eyes. The fans and the city are sad to see him go but in the end it is a business and they need to clear salary cap space. Hines Ward will always be a good role model to kids and a service to his community. Steeler Nation has best wishes for Hines Ward. We will miss you!

Helping Your Franchise
Ben Roethlisberger is probably one of the smartest quarterbacks in the NFL. In order for the Pittsburgh Steelers to keep their Pro Bowl wide receiver (Mike Wallace) many players on the team would have to restructure their contracts in order to fit the salary cap. The highly talented Mike Wallace is the most versatile wide receiver in the NFL and is the highest prized free agent on the market. It would definitely be tough to lose such a great weapon. Roethlisberger gave up 8 million dollars and restructured his contract in an effort to keep his number one deep threat. I believe that in order for the Steelers to have the best chance to win next season, they must find every possible way to keep Mike Wallace!

Peyton Manning to the Redskins?
The Indianapolis Colts are in the middle of one of the craziest off seasons in recent memory. With the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, they need to decide whether to keep Peyton Manning or to release him. The projected #1 overall pick Andrew Luck is the kind of quarterback prospect that maybe comes around once every couple decades and is considered to be the most hyped prospect of all-time. At this point it is starting to look like Manning has played his last game as a Colt. The Washington Redskins are in desperate need for a quarterback and Manning would definitely be a player on their radar. Owner Daniel Snyder never shy's away from spending his money to bring in some big named free agents. Manning would be a good fit and I am almost positive that the Redskins would pay him the money that he wants and deserves.
I believe that the Redskins would be an immediate playoff contender if they add Peyton Manning to the mix.
